Sing for Sussex – Hospice Hymnathon 2015

 

On behalf of Leo House at Home, a local charity supporting life-limited children, I would like to invite you to book a slot in the Friends of Sussex Hospices Hymnathon, a 30 hour marathon of hymn singing on the 19th and 20th September 2015 in the inspiring setting of Lancing College Chapel. We welcome choirs and individual singers of all faiths and none to help us raise funds. 

 

The Hymnathon will commence at 9.30am on Saturday 19th September and draw to a close at 3.30pm on Sunday 20th September - to be followed by a Blackberry Tea and magnificent Grand Finale at 5.30pm.

 

There are 3 ways for you to participate:

• Choirs of every size and ability are invited to showcase their repertoire of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs in slots of half or an hour throughout the 30 hours.

• Individual singers can join us for ½ hour of preselected hymns at intervals to include Croissant and Christmas Carols on Sunday morning or Psalms from the Parish Psalter on Sunday afternoon.

• Both choirs and individual singers are welcomed to join in the glorious choruses of the MESSIAH sectioned into 3 parts (each section including the Hallelujah chorus) to be sung during Saturday 19th September. The final section will end at midnight with the great Amen chorus.

 

We ask individual singers and choir members for a suggested minimum sponsorship of £10, but if this cannot be achieved we are pleased to accept any lesser amount.
